The Myth
It is a popular misconception that, like
human beings, computers slow down as they get older. Let's clear
this myth up here and now. It is not true.
So why does it seem this way?
There are various contributors to the slowing
down of your computer. Your computer hardware runs at the same
speed as the day you bought it. The software however becomes
corrupt and unstable. The main causes of this are:
-
Uninstallation of various software
applications generally leaves something behind
-
Too many programs are running all the
time. You may not even know these exist
-
Possible virus, spyware, adware or
malware infections
-
Large updates make Windows slower than
the original version you had on day one
-
Corrupt registry, disused registry
entries
-
Services running which shouldn't be
-
User preferences set to use copious
amounts of processor power
These are only a few reasons why your may be
on a go slow. What it does however prove is that you most likely
do not need to spend money on a new computer. You simply need
your existing system checked over and put right.
